Georgia Southwestern SD9 1901 (ex DMIR) assembles its train at Smithville, GA preparing to head for Dawson, GA and points west. When RailAmerica sold the GSWR to its present operator, the SD9’s departed the property.

A trio of South Carolina Central GP10’s haul a 127 car train destined for interchange with CSX at Florence, SC. The train is departing Darlington, SC. RailAmerica has now assigned ex GTW GP40-2’s to this line to handle the heavy trains.

Still in full DRGW paint, Hartwell RR GP35 3044 leads the local into Lavonia, GA. The NS woodchip hoppers are destined for the chip mill at Dewey Rose, GA, which is now closed.

Hartwell RR GP30 3021 leads the local from Toccoa, GA at Lavonia, GA with white extra section flags flying. GP9 6525 is now assigned to the company’s Athens Line, LLC operation.

In a rare sight, Hartwell GP30’s 3016 and 3021 are paired on the local at Lavonia, GA. The bulk of the Hartwell fleet is not painted in company colors, making it difficult to catch a matched lashup such as this. 3016 is now assigned to the company’s Athens Line, LLC operation.
